Ryan has served as headmaster at Providence for nearly two decades, and prior to joining Providence, he taught sixth grade for seven years and served as a middle school administrator for five years. Ryan and his wife Maely have three adult children who are Providence alumni.
Ryan’s interests include collecting vintage baseball cards, the music of Rich Mullins, and the writings of Flannery O’Connor, C.S. Lewis, and Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
His life-long goals, while admittedly improbable, include hitting a hole-in-one, witnessing a World Series victory for the Seattle Mariners, and adding the Northern Saw-whet owl to his birding life list. His ultimate goals are to be faithful (Colossians 3:17) and to see his children walk in the truth (3 John 3-4).
