Julie grew up in the Seattle area and appreciates living close to both the mountains and the water. She has more than fifteen years of experience in education and considers it an honor to teach at Providence. For more than 20 years, she lived in Indonesia with her family, where she was instrumental in starting a classical Christian school.
She and her husband, Gerrit, have three children, two of whom graduated from Providence. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she enjoys running, traveling, music, and reading a wide variety of literature. She desires to glorify God by fulfilling the great commandment of loving God and loving people.
