Nate was born in Thailand where his parents were missionaries for more than 40 years. Nate ran track and cross country in college and set the American 17- year-olds’ record (8:59.8) for the 3,000-meter steeplechase. He went to Nationals four times, and earned the honor of an All-American in track. He was a leader in the Fellowship of Christian Athlete’s group, and met his wife, Kelly.
He then worked at Boeing for 12 years in the Maintenance Engineering Group of Customer Services. He was a lead engineer for various systems, an Account Representative for the 777 Thai Airways introduction, and received a Certificate of Outstanding Performance.
Nate and Kelly have five sons, all of whom have graduated from or are attending Providence, and are members of Trinity Church. In his spare time, Nate likes to work in his yard, sit by a fire, hike, read, sing songs, and watch his kids play sports. He recognizes that life is hard, relationships are fragile, and it is only the grace of God that sustains him!
