Last year I listed ten reasons to attend an Open House at Providence on this blog. I intend to develop these reasons further in this article, because deciding what school your child will attend is one of the most important decisions you as parents will ever make.
The purpose of an Open House. Visiting schools is a critical part of choosing the best one for your family. Yes, you can get a pretty good idea about school programs and facilities from a website, but remember a website is a tool for general information presented in a way that will most benefit the school. Visiting in the classrooms and meeting the teachers and administrators will help determine which school it is that you can entrust your child for many years to come. First impressions reveal a lot, and I invite you to gain your first impression of Providence by attending one of our two evening Open Houses on January 10 or February 16 at 7 P.M.
What you will see. An Open House is a great way to get a first hand look at the atmosphere and overall feel of Providence. You will meet teachers, chat with some students, learn more about the curriculum, and meet with Alice Kniss, our Grammar Principal, or Ryan Evans, our headmaster to answer some questions you may have about Providence. You will also have the opportunity to meet and ask current Providence parents about their experiences.
How Providence can benefit your family. Open houses are our opportunity to share our programs as well as our mission and core values and to give you a good overview of the school. Our aim is to help prospective families discover whether or not Providence is the right fit for their child. Small classes ensure your child will not just be a number or get lost in the shuffle, and our deliberate focus on character and faith development along with academics will bring out the best in your child.
Open House helps prepare for the upcoming year. Attending an Open House and gaining a sense of what the classrooms and teachers are like will help you to prepare your child for the upcoming year
Observe the end result of a Providence education. Former graduates will speak about how Providence impacted their lives and prepared them for college.
It’s the first of two steps you want to take. After you take the first step of attending an evening Open House at Providence, we invite you to attend a Wednesday Open House to see our classrooms in action and experience the culture that makes us a different kind of Christian school. Providence welcomes visitors each Wednesday from 8:30-11:00 AM.
Make the most of an Open House. Check out the Providence website (pccs.org) and request information. Come to the evening Open House prepared with questions for teachers and administrators. Schedule a Wednesday Open House visit to observe our academics and the interaction between teachers and students.
Best way to follow up after an Open House. Call (425-774-6622) or email to schedule a school visitation and more one-on-one time with teachers and administrators.
Be sure to check out last year’s blog on the Open House to get more information and reasons to attend this year’s event.
