Working with young people has always been a joy for Gerrit, and he intends to stay at Providence for several years to come. He particularly likes to take time for one-on-one conversations.

In his off-hours, he enjoys biking (except in the winter), music, writing, and keeping up with current events. Gerrit has been married for over 35 years, has three children, and one grandson.
